A few friendly rules keep the fun rolling. Make sure to follow them so everyone can play safely and the game stays enjoyable for our legends.

FAIR PLAY STANDARDS

We are a community built on respecting one another, including all players and officials.

Play fairly and uphold the true spirit and integrity of the game.

Encourage and support your teammates, especially during tough moments.

Follow game rules and instructions to ensure sessions run smoothly and safely.

Players must pay registration fee of $100 each calendar year, which includes playing kits.

Fees enable APIA to supply equipment refreshment and additional player kits where necessary.

Arrive prepared and on time for kickoff at 8:30am, wearing football boots suitable for play.

Legends play 3x30 minute games maximum with 8 per side on a half pitch, all weather.

Sessions run each Wednesday all year round (excluding School Holidays and Christmas break)

Players must notify Legends of their availability weekly via the WhatsApp group.

All equipment, balls, goal keeper gloves, playing surface and goals are provided.

Show genuine sportsmanship, celebrating wins humbly and accepting losses gracefully.

No slide tackles (mad if you do at our age) or tackles from behind.

Be patient, what we think we can play in our head doesn’t always equate to our legs.

Look after club facilities and equipment, keeping shared spaces clean and safe.

Communicate positively on the field, using clear and respectful language at all times.

Give your best effort in every game, regardless of the score or outcome.

NOT ALLOWED AT LEGENDS

Using any form of abuse, intimidation, or disrespect toward others on or off the field.

Engaging in dangerous, reckless, or violent play that puts others at risk. No slide tackles.

Arguing with, challenging, or showing dissent toward referees or officials.

Bullying, excluding, or targeting teammates in ways that harm team unity.

Damaging or misusing club equipment, facilities, or community spaces.

What is APIA Legends FC?

APIA Legends FC is a senior football community based in Sydney’s Inner West, established for over 60s who wish to stay active, social and enjoy football in a relaxed, welcoming environment built for fun.

Who can join APIA Legends FC?

APIA Legends FC is open to those aged 60+ who want to play social, non-competition football in an environment where all abilities are welcome and everyone has the opportunity to take part.

When and where does APIA Legends FC take place?

APIA Legends FC takes place at Lambert Park Sportsfield in Leichhardt, with weekly sessions held on Wednesday mornings 8:30am kick-off.

How do I register for APIA Legends FC?

To register, click the “Register Now” button in the top navigation of the website. You’ll be taken to an external page where you can submit your details and pay the annual participation fee. Once completed, you’ll receive a confirmation of your registration. Your joining kit will then be provided at the next game you attend.

How do I notify APIA Legends FC that I’m available?
